WELCOME

"Welcome to Woodmont – A United Methodist Community of Faith! At Woodmont, our mission is to SEEK to connect people with God's grace, SHAPE followers of Jesus, SHARE life together, and SERVE others as we transform our community and God's world for love. Our community of faith consists of people of all ages, with all kinds of backgrounds, who are at various stages on their spiritual journey.

Our Sunday morning worship experience features both an upbeat contemporary service in our Fellowship Hall and a warm traditional style service in our Sanctuary. Each week's teaching seeks to be biblically-based and culturally relevant – helping us live out our faith in a practical way in a post-modern world. Our Sundays feature music by our wonderful Woodmont Band and excellent Chancel Choir accompanied by pipe organ. On other Sundays, however, our music might feature an acoustic guitar, a banjo, a hammer dulcimer, a recorder or handbells. We hope you will take the opportunity to join us as we seek, shape, share and serve God together!"

– Pastor Jonathan Brake

HOW WE SHARE OUR GIFTS

Woodmont Sharing
Since its formation in 1960, Woodmont has offered varied programs to meet the needs of its growing congregation and those of the surrounding community as well as the needs of those worldwide through missions. Our members are very active in all aspects of church life at all age levels. We have seen our membership grow as well as facilities expand to meet those needs.

Currently we commit about 12% of our budget to work outside of our congregation; the youth commit time and funds to many mission projects; the United Methodist Men’s and United Methodist Women’s groups also have their separate mission projects.

"Looking back I remember our first meetings in the auditorium of South End School. We moved into our present building three years later. Since then we have expanded to meet the growing needs of our congregation and plan for future generations. We need to continue this effort to provide for the future in all aspects of our ministry."

– Jimmy Thompson, charter member
