Welcome to this website which provides information to victims/survivors of clergy misconduct of a sexual nature and for church leaders in The United Methodist Church. We hope this information is helpful and moves you and our Church in the direction of healing, justice, and reconciliation.
Please note that this website
is about clergy misconduct of a sexual nature which happens between adults and is not about child sexual abuse;
is about clergy misconduct of a sexual nature - We understand that sexual abuse can occur in many different relationships, however, this resource addresses the specific dynamics of the pastor/parishioner relationship. If you are a person who has experienced sexual abuse from a layperson in the United Methodist Church, please talk with your pastor or with the Pastor/Staff-Parish Relations Committee; in addition to talk to pastor or staff-parish, person can contact GCSRW as well.
provides information and is not geared specifically toward healing from abuse - although some of the resources may help a person to move in this direction;
is for the whole United Methodist Church and, therefore, does not deal with specific states (U.S.A.) or countries and their laws; and,
deals with the Church processes and not with civil/criminal processes.
