I am allergic to wheat. Will I be able to take communion?

United Methodist churches can include rice cakes or a gluten-free bread as an option for persons who have a gluten intolerance.  Be sure to let the pastor know if you have this need.

This Holy Mystery: A United Methodist Understanding of Holy Communion, the official statement on communion, says, "In congregations where there are people with gluten allergies, gluten-free bread may be offered."
