          Giving

  • United Methodists give more than $4.4 billion annually for clergy support and benevolences, local church building and debt retirement and operating expenses.
  • United Methodists give more than $460 million yearly for district, annual conference, and jurisdictional benevolences, and United Methodist Women funds.
  • In 2002, United Methodists contributed more than $154 million for general benevolences, connectional clergy support and administration, including $61,653,417 for World Service, the basic program and benevolence fund.
  • Local congregations gave a total of $5,043,693,838 for all purposes in 2001.
