Devo'Zine makes Web site more meaningful for teens
7/10/2002 News media contact: Linda Green · (615) 742-5470 · Nashville, Tenn NASHVILLE, Tenn. (UMNS) - The United Methodist magazine that caters exclusively to teen-agers has launched a new interactive Web site to help youth in their spiritual journeys.
Devo'Zine, the Upper Room's devotional magazine for teens, has retooled its www.devozine.org Web site to give youth a place a visit, share and explore their faith, voice opinions and pray.
The former, primarily "service site" told visitors about the print magazine and solicited writers for articles. The new site offers users "loads of fun, touching, and meaningful content that gets them involved in the site and the world around them," said Sandy Miller, the magazine's managing editor.
"Everything has changed about the site," she said. "It has a whole new look and lots of new features - some reflective, some creative, some educational and some playful."
The goal of the 24-hour interactive site is to provide teens with fresh and relevant content, as well as a place for them to encourage and challenge one another while building community.
Miller said she hopes that www.devozine.org becomes a "spiritual practice for teens" as well as "an integral part of their devotional time or simply a reminder to make time for prayer and reflection in their daily lives."
